The AWS J. R. "Bob" Dobbs, is a drone carrier of the AWSF. It was named for a mythological deity by students of the Iridian Center for the Study of Ancient Memetics, whose viral war-bond advertising won a perhaps ill-considered government contest. The "Bob" is home to a sapient digital intelligence, Tactical Synthete J119 "Shub".
The "Bob" is currently stationed in high orbit around Dirac, and has been there since the conclusion of the Dirac civil war intervention, with transports supplying it and relieving its crews (of which there are four: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta) every few months. (As of the start of BTW, the Gamma crew is on the "Bob", commanded by Cdre Johnson Eclair-Coder.)
During the war, the "Bob" heavily harvested the surface of Dirac's outermost (captured asteroid) moons for propellants and drone structural materials.
