Tactical Synthete J119, "Shub" to its friends, is a sapient digital intelligence created by the Central Technical University of New Europa, in Heidelberg orbit. It is a biomimetic hardware neural network of approximately eighteen human brains' capacity, seeded with a terminally ill human donor, Sierra Robotfighter, a renowned real-time shipping logistics consultant and space force veteran. Sibling synthetes J120, J122, and J124 were cloned from J119 with its permission. (The neural network cannot be digitally copied, but its designers made some provisions for duplication.)
Cdr J119 is a citizen of the Allied Worlds, and currently is a commissioned officer of the AWSF aboard the BTW/Bob Dobbs in the Guo's Star system. J119 is subdivided into six "focuses", and essentially has six sets of short-term memory and can pay effectively complete attention to six things at once. The focuses share memory and usually intentions, though J119 has occasionally disagreed with itself transiently.
Although created and originally trained to control fighter drones and missile buses, J119 is currently studying engineering. In its spare time, J119 enjoys playing virtual reality games anonymously and writing poetry about its wartime experiences and its fading memories of human qualia.
