Bitterbriar – A thorny bramble bush found in the Dusts. Noted for being incredibly ugly and unpleasant it exudes an oil that, if tasted, induces immediate and acute fear. At any dose, the moment it hits the consuming creature's tongue they become convinced that they are going to die. In low doses this feeling can last as little as a fraction of a second. In high doses, as much as a half-minute. No psychedelic effects have ever been observed after ingestion, strictly the immediate effect upon tasting the oil. All of this on top of being a very bitter-tasting plant and a sharp one, to boot. Much like how peppers and their evolution to taste spicy was meant to get most animals to avoid eating them, this evolution had the opposite of the intended effect. It is a staple in traditional zebra cooking and makes anything it's mixed in give the eater a small rush of adrenaline and shortness of breath, making eating (for lack of a better way to describe it) exciting.
