Timelines
Bunworld history can be divided into a number of distinct timelines to separate the distinct cultures and cultural impact of certain events. For reference dates will be divided between the major even denotations, "Before Golden Wheat" BGW, "After Golden Wheat" AGW, and "After Council" AC.
First Peoples (5,600,000,000-84,085,000 BGW)
- (5.6e9 BGW): The planet Orycto forms by the combined gravitational and thalmic forces of the field surrounding the stars Lyvol and Xyvol. The planet develops only a single continent on the inner surface and two continents on the outer surface.
- (8.4e7 BGW): Xyl and Lyx arrive to the planet after Xyl decides to locate an unclaimed world to make it easier to introduce Lyx to the methods used to act as a divinity. They spend 2000 years adapting the interior surface of the planet to support life. Once prepared they create the first life on the planet, the ancient dragons. The dragons are gifted with the immense power of creation.
- (8.39945e7 BGW): The dragons (population 5,783) use their immense magic to build cities and create a servant race in their image, squats. The eldest 40 dragons claim rulership of their cities.
- (8.39923e7 BGW): The dragons claiming leadership rally weaker dragons to their sides and begin to divide the planet into kingdoms of those who support their claim to rulership.
- (8.39915e7 BGW): Tensions between the kingdoms result in the rulers husbanding immense amounts of magical power.
- (8.39907e7 BGW): War breaks out between the dragons, the fighting gets so extreme that it begins to threaten the stability of the planet itself. Xyl descends to the planet and takes away the power from the warring dragons and trapping them and the squats in a parallel dimension. Only 5 dragons, 4 of which had put themselves into a state of torpor remain in the world. Jostrum, the only active dragon and the one who began the war, is bound into the magical structure separating the dimensions as punishment.
- (8.25e7 BGW): Xyl convinces Lyx to make another attempt on the same planet and assists him in restoring the planet to a habitable state. The remaining excess magic is placed into the core of the planet.
The First Buns (2,500,000-850,290 BGW)
- (2.5e6 BGW): The planet is finally restored to habitable conditions. The outer continents have divided into their current forms, the inner continent has divided into 4 distinct continents. Lyx and Xyl work together to create the first buns and their first city on the inside of the planet. The city is divided between the buns created by Lyx, those tasked with jobs pertaining to creation and life, and those created by Xyl, those tasked with jobs pertaining to destruction and death*.
*In example the sowing and tending of a field would be in the first category while the reaping would be in the second.
- (1.4695e6 BGW): The city has expanded into a huge and highly advanced kingdom that covers the continent. Their understanding of magic is nearly far enough advanced to begin the discussion of inter-dimensional or interplanetary travel.
- (1.1143e6 BGW): The first murder among buns occurs. The murder is between one of Xyl's buns and one of Lyx's buns, as a result it creates an enormous division in the kingdom. The division ultimately results in a breakdown of the kingdom into a brutal war.
- (1.11425e6 BGW): The war has extended to the point that all of Xyl's buns are restricted to a single city. Xyl once more descends. Xyl saves the buns in the city by aiding them in escaping to the same parallel dimension occupied by the dragons and adapting the buns who fled underground to life in the tunnels.
- The survivors among Lyx's buns are punished by Lyx. The buns in the ruling city are cursed with a combination of eternal life and nightmarish forms and compulsions while being forever stuck within their current boundaries. The rest of their country have their language, memories and knowledge of advanced magic and technology stolen away and are drive through the underground to the outer surface of the planet in small scattered groups.
Tsarcrov (1,114,250 BGW-25 AC)
- (0AC): The representatives of the 9 ladies attend the council
Azmalakah (1,113,357 BGW-25 AC)
- (0 GW): Queen Farrow Wheat gives birth to Golden Wheat.
- (5 GW): Queen Farrow is dethroned by the Dutchess Riot Oat. Golden Wheat is ferried out under the cover of the night and left under the care of Iron Bloom, the childhood friend of Queen Farrow and retired knight of the queendom. Iron Bloom raises Golden Wheat under the name of Brittle Bloom.
- (8 GW): Queen Oat's control is considered illegitimate by several exceptionally loyal nobles, forcing her to mobilize her military on a campaign to quell the growing insurrection.
- (12 GW): Queen Oat's constant and excessive force is used by the surviving nobles and several refugees from the defeated nobles to rally a revolt.
- (17 GW): Queen Oat puts down the remaining portions of the revolt. The weakened order and defensive forces is seen by the Skvader Warlord Ember Ash as a ripe opportunity and she begins an invasion of the queendom.
- (19 GW): The barbarian war front reaches the small town of Ghlin, the current home of Golden Wheat. The Lady who owns the town decides that defending it would be too costly and refuses to deploy her troops to defend the town. Golden Wheat rallies the buns of the town to fight off the attacking forces before taking the survivors out to the other towns to prevent the other barbarian bands from overrunning them. Having saved the fiefdom Golden Wheat went to petition the lady for troops to press the battle further out and reinforce their boundaries. This was interpreted as a power grab and Golden Wheat was imprisoned.
- Golden Wheat's imprisonment is extremely unpopular and the fiefdom breaks out in revolt. Golden escapes and leads the revolting buns in fending off the lady's troops and then in escaping the reinforcements sent by the queen.
- (20 GW) Golden Wheat and his troops begin traveling through the country defending areas from the barbarians. He adopts the name Copper Brand to avoid constant conflict with the army. Queen Oat contracts blind-rot and dies 3 months later. Her daughter Crystal Oat inherits the throne.
- After a fight that rescued the bulk of Oat's commanders Golden Wheat is given a commendation and offered the post of Captain with his troops made an official regiment. Golden accepts but on the condition that his past crimes be forgiven. Golden continues using the name Brittle Bloom
- (21 GW) Golden wheat uses his new position and his troops to halt the advance of the barbarian forces. Golden Wheat is promoted to general alongside current general Apple Brim. Together they push the remaining barbarian forces out of the country and up to the "Final Wall."
- Golden Wheat and Apple Brim lay siege to the wall hoping to press Ember Ash into a cessation of hostility.
- Ember Ash and Golden Wheat meet in battle on the wall. An enormous explosion destroys the central gate of the wall. Both are believed dead. Ember Ash's successor agrees to a cessation of hostilities and withdraws the hordes. With the loss of the external foe and the recent change in power the queendom begins to fracture as members of the nobility vie for power.
- Golden Wheat is found in a small river town and nursed back to health. He returns, under cover, to his childhood home in time to wait at the deathbed of Iron Bloom. Iron Bloom explains Golden Wheat's background and real name.
- Golden Wheat confronts the lady in charge of Ghlin who is currently trying to take over a neighboring feifdom in her own bid for power. Golden Wheat takes her down and establishes peace in the area. Golden then takes up the troops in the area and makes his way inward towards the palace, stopping in each region to put down any combating nobility.
- (23 GW) The remaining 4 fiefdoms have unified to put down Golden's forces and attempt to seize the palace. Golden's forces stop the allied forces and prevents them from seizing the palace. When Golden refuses to seize the palace himself and instead disperses his troops to re-establish order in the queendom Queen Crystal calls him to the court to reward him with a noble title. Golden reveals his identity but refuses the queens offer to take the throne for himself. Golden Wheat explains that he's a warrior and not a politician and believes she would be better able to manage the needs of a queendom at peace. Queen Crystal explains that his refusal to take the throne could likely upset that same peace given both his heroic position and valid claim to the throne. As a compromise to both concerns Golden Wheat marries her but takes the lesser title of King, turning a concern of political power to a concern about personal predilections.
- (25 GW) Queen Crystal gives birth to the princess Ruby Oat.
- (27 GW) Golden Wheat leaves the country on a sea voyage. A large storm is encountered and he is believed to be lost at sea.
- (29 GW) Golden Wheat encounters dwarf buns on the island of Ike. Being lost he is unable to establish any diplomatic connections between the cultures.
- (33 GW) The dwarf buns furnish Golden Wheat with a new ship.
- (34 GW) Golden Wheat arrives at the continent of Krolit. The Rex buns encounter him and initially believe him to be a member of the Tsarcrov Empire. The resulting miscommunication causes them to help direct him home to the wrong location.
- (36 GW) Golden Wheat arrives in the Tsarcrov Empire. While traveling he save a young bun from her pursuers. He then helps her return to the capital and learns that she was the young Empress Star Stall. Her parents were recently slain and the attack on her convey had been part of the same coup attempt. Golden Wheat and the imperial guard route the coup forces. The imperial astrologers work with Golden Wheat to determine that he ended up on the wrong continent and is in the western hemisphere of the planet. They are able to use this to estimate a travel path.
- (39 GW) Golden Wheat returns to his home.
- (41 GW) Queen Crystal gives birth to the princess Rippling Wheat. Diplomatic envoys reach Reyflor and Tsarcrov and establish relations with their government.
- (42 GW) Golden Wheat investigates research into one of the deeper caves on the continent after scholars claim it to be the source of all monsters in the region. Golden Wheat vanishes shortly after.
- (63 GW) Golden Wheat returns, missing one eye and 8 months into a pregnancy. Golden Wheat gives birth to Black Buck, Golden Wheat and Crystal refuse to disclose the crowned bun's sire. Owing to her unusual fur and eye color rumors begin to spread regarding an unnatural ancestry.
- (75 GW) Black Buck, rather than allow continued questions of their heritage to plague their family, departs the queendom.
- (83 GW) Black Buck ends up on Typhata, an isolated island populated by a colony of extremely small vulps referred to as Fennex.
- (88 GW) Black Buck and Lymphine, the voxen shaman of the island, conceive a child. Despite her mixed heritage Blood Oak presents as a Almiraj.
- (102 GW) Blood Oak leaves Typhata to arrive on the dwarf bun island of Cyanabac.
- (115 GW) Blood Oak meets and receives council from one of the few living dragons, Maelstra, and the dwarf seer Silver Rind. They both advise her that unless the Vulps are able to meet and reconcile with Buns on their own terms the inevitable collision will be a violent one that would likely wipe out one or both cultures. Blood Oak leaves to find a route underground and meet with the leaders of Vulp society.
- (0 AC):
Myndighet (1,114,124 BGW-25 AC)
- (1.11e6 BGW): Skvander exist primarily in large family clan structures scattered across mountainous regions where their cliffside homes provide natural protection from non-flying threats.
- (1.114002e6 BGW): The first Skvander settlement of Ghetisis (Get-tea-sis) is founded when the Redsky clan grows to an unprecedented 115 members, forcing them to begin making seperate but associated homesteads rather than foster further infighting and division.
- (1.1139e6 BGW): There are now 19 major skvander settlements across the Kunnely moutain range. A state of minor border hostilities exists across all of them owing to competition for hunting ground. Despite this trade is still common though it is a tense process.

The first official skvander war-party is formed. by the Redsky clan as a response and the first Skvander war breaks out.

- (0 AC):
Shenze (1,112,976 BGW-25 AC)
- (0 AC): Opal Regime, the dwarf seer who currently acts as the tribunal representative receives a vision of the arriving vulp delegation. Knowing they'd be unable to convince the other countries to act on their visions against that group and that an open warning would likely result in the delegations death Opal opts to have their personal guards interfere with the council security response in order to give the delegation time to make it to the council chambers and present their positions. Opal provides vocal support to the treaty and is placed under extensive investigation out of a belief that they had been manipulated.
Reyflor (1,111,892 BGW-25 AC)
(0 AC): BruteBark, attends the council in place of her mother. While heavily suspicious of the delegation the rex is the first to call off her security forces and even makes a direct threat of physical violence when Verdent Fall, the representitive for the Almiraj city of Lawndahr, threatened to leave and direct his own ship to fire on the delegation.
The representatives for the air routes, Debaj Celio and Pcio Tana, are both invited by BruteBark to ensure a representation of airbown kingdoms over that continent. The cities send QuickRoot and TenderPetal, both vote in favor of the treaty under the condition that they have traffic claims over any airports built near the vulp tunnels.
Vulps (3,562,298 BGW-25 AC)
- (0 AC): Lead in by Black Buck's daughter the Vulp Confederacy arrives at the Golden Council onboard the airship Vivid's Folly. Despite the outrage and some initial attempts at violence Black Buck and Ocher Fess, the spokesvulp of the confederacy, convince the council to admit them. The delegation convinces the council that the vulps are not a unified and hostile people and that the underground kingdoms would rather meet the buns as peaceful mutuals. The treaties signed open access to the vulp underground paths and both buns and vulps begin to integrate their societies.
