The Crafty Crapaud a sentient, amphibian monster of about 1m height, native to the [[Dread Dimensions]]. It is apt to swallow its enemies whole if their size allows it, and its mouth is quite large in relation to its body. It has a long, sticky tongue which facilitates this. (And gives it a bonus to its grappling attempt; a Crafty Crapaud must grapple its prey first in order to swallow it.) These creatures are patient, and will seek out a good place to hide. They use their intelligence to stalk and track prey, and will look for signs of frequent passage of other creatures in determining a hiding place. After making a kill of sentient prey, they usually move to a new location, to avoid retribution.
