One independent member of the DGC, Silverstripe, caucuses with the DPP.

While the economy has generally operated adequately under the DPP, they are often criticized for allowing exploitative behavior by powerful business interests, and failing to impose sufficient health and safety regulations. This latter criticism has also come from inside the party. The DPP have often been sharply critical of dissenting voices in politics, but Docktown has an ancient and well-established right to free speech for its citizens, and remains a functioning democracy (some would say in spite of the DPP's efforts.)
