The Downtown Ward of Docktown is a region representing part of the old Downtown of Docktown. The other part is the Old City Ward, but the Downtown ward has been inhabited longer and excavated more completely (not to mention reworked more in modern times.) It is notable for its huge pre-catastrophic buildings, a few of which have survived mostly intact and are still used today. Many more collapsed after the Catastrophe, though, sometimes with great loss of life - wariness of the ruins actually resulted in it being less densely populated throughout the Dark Age than the West and Harbor wards.
The City Hall of Docktown was moved to a grand new building in Downtown in 3304, after having been ruled from the West Ward for many years.
