• Edge

A pony settlement on the edge of the cliffs, located near a favorable path to ascend or descend the cliffside. Founded in 2936, its early growth was fueled by migrants escaping the Great Famine caused by the Crystal Forest overtaking the Valley of Yore in the Northeastern Dusts. It is comparatively prosperous for its era, especially since the Trench Whale oil boom. The economy is based on trade (45%), light industry mainly in support of agriculture (25%), services (20%), and agriculture (10%) predominantly of herbs and vegetables.

The Edge is governed by a democratically elected mayor, currently Parchment Scroll. The Edge was briefly part of the Confederation of Cities but withdrew after a disagreement over funding for a failed semaphore telegraphy project.

Note: The Edge will be a focus of the early campaign, but it is not necessary to be an inhabitant of it (which will impose a considerably higher burden of required knowledge of the setting on you than if your character recently arrived there from a nearby town.)
