MD is the daughter of White Eyes, a failed attempt to make an alicorn, and the sister of Eldritch Lore mk II. She has among her personal effects a letter.

It has been difficult for me to write you after the unhappy circumstances of our parting, but I had a bit of a near-miss a few days ago, and I realized that I will not live forever, the foolish ambitions of my youth aside. Villa of Vintage Gear - a club built in the ruins of old Docktown by Vintage Gear, a Zony who collects artifacts, specifically audio equipment / hifi stuff, and sometimes makes it work. His club is a popular spot for its novelty. Substance abuse thrives.

Book is a foal's storybook of folklore, printed in Equestria. It has plastic pages, and seems to have survived the centuries in readable condition. Bookmarked is a story about a kind, gentle pony who nurtures a bent-over seedling to grow into a beautiful flower. It yields edible fruit, but, not being perennial, dies in the winter frost. It's one of those depressing circle of life things.
