Archived GM Notes: This page is unsealed GM-notes pertaining to PRPG2. It is not canonical to PRPG2. It may contain contradictions (even with itself), and preliminary ideas that were merely written down as I thought of them, for later consideration. The absence of something mentioned here from the canon does not necessarily mean that the party "missed" it, it could have been mooted for other reasons or simply discarded by me.

Sparkle Sauce is the changeling.

Bluey (Blue Star), earth pony colt

Morning Star, earth pony filly

Ruby to attack in Slag Hollow.

Some ponies who got lost due to great boreal eye orbit changes

Her strategy - blow up the airship? Take hostages? Probably maybe both to prevent the party interfering with the hostage taking because they will be distracted not dying hopefully. Then demand the elements.

1. Ruby took hostages:

Dust Skipper, Captain, earth pony stallion, light tan earth pony, magenta mane Sparkle Sauce, First Officer / Pilot, unicorn mare. tan unicorn, grey mane Frisky Star, Relief Pilot/Enchanter, unicorn mare, speckled pink unicorn, yellow mane Glow Plug, Engineer, Mooring Chief, pegasus mare, pale pink with cyan mane Ace Tail, Assistant Engineer / Mooring, pegasus zony stallion, black striped white, striped mane

She killed: The changeling (Sparkle Sauce?); Ace Tail (who was on watch) (Maybe he was just seriously wounded by an anti-changeling grenade? They started to kidnap him but then the foals were found and they decided Ace "would probably just die anyway" and didn't take him.)

Remember QC response to Shadow in re foal homes

El Cochino will let them know where Horseshoe is when he defects. (Irongate).

Exchange plan: Ruby wants the Elements, and hopes to trade the foals for them. She will leave three hirelings 30 km or so north of Slag Hollow at an abandoned mining camp near and named for a distinctive tor, The Throwing Rocks, where bandits were supposedly executed in former times. (The veracity of this is in doubt since Slag Hollow is the only nearby settlement and it never had huge bandit problems or much capital punishment.) She will leave there written instructions for the party.

There are skid marks where a glider has landed in the sand near the Throwing Rocks.

The hirelings are not well-informed. Ruby just told them to give her written instructions to the party, gave them each a code word. Upon receipt of the Elements, one of the three is to leave (stealthily) and go to Irongate, where Horseshoe is staying; Horseshoe (who can confirm the code words) will then go with that hireling to the camp and pick up the elements, return to Irongate, and signal Ruby before leaving for a pre-arranged rendezvous point. (May Bee Manor, where Ruby's party will take them to Oatwheel to negotiate with White Eyes / Risen Bones' Organization for the Elements.) However, unbeknownst to Ruby, White Eyes will by that time have been ordered to just kill Ruby, irrespective of what she might say. (EL being an alicorn and indeed RB the ostensible lich, are patient and confident that the Elements are indestructible.) Because of the Dragonstone, though, Ruby will actually prevail and kill WE, if this comes to pass, but not before he "marks" her for easy tracking. If the party is really asleep here and does not find Ruby first, RBO will hunt her down and take the elements and take them to Teardrop Island or Docktown to be reunited with the party or alternative bearers as should seem appropriate to EL at that time, possibly with an attempt at getting some kind of concessions if it seems unlikely goodwill will be returned.

Ruby has an artifact, the Dragonstone, that projects selective kinetic and null-magic fields to effectively protect the bearer from unicorn magic esp. TK. This was what was being transported by that paladin. Its erratic spontaneous activation if not used regularly makes it unsafe to transport by pegasus. The Dragonstone can be overloaded, which is what should ideally happen to avoid the party getting it. Or perhaps it can just be made very limited-use.

Ruby's deadline for the elements to be dropped off at the camp will be midnight after her message calling them to the Throwing Rocks is received; the third pony (the messenger) will give it to them via a proxy around 0500-0600.
