Exceptionally Sharp Thagomizer ( Hesentyaq ) will wait for them at the tower, though he will be concerned by the delay if the sleep in Southfen. He will send a message to Shadow in the early morning if the night passes without their arrival. [REDACTED]

Sir Paragon Peel is there too. A older Pegasus, white with grey mane, cutie mark of a a yellow bell surrounded by a red circle. Sir Paragon has retired to the life of a gentlecolt scientist, and is experimenting in radio, thusfar with limited success. He also has a telescope, although it is currently taken apart for improvements. He has a pair of pigs helping him with his experiments, Boris and Porcina. They were slaves to lowland camels, rescued by Sir Paragon, who remain with him as (paid) workers. They come from a community in the lowlands far to the West of the Isle of Yore, living in the ruins of a sunken aircraft carrier, although they are not sure exactly where as their journey through the desert was long and convoluted. Although their community had preserved a relatively high level of technological sophistication, the camels had overwhelmed them with massed infantry attacks under the leadership of "The Swift One," an upland warlord. They hope that he never sets his sights on the Isle of Yore.

Paragon left his position in the Paladins of Springvale over a private issue (Sir Paragon's partner grundle partner committed adultery with his then-wife, an earth pony), and was granted leave to do so honorably by the Count, Graph Paper. Sir Paragon's grundle partner was expelled from the order. He is not keen to discuss this in detail, for fear of bringing shame to the Paladins.

Ace Paragon is Paragon Peel's son. He might visit if the party sticks around the tower too long, and will want to arrest the fugitives.

The tower has a library and private rooms sufficient for the party.

The Trenchtown Airship Crimson Heart will dock at the tower very shortly after the party arrives to take on a "cargo" (really: fuel) of sesame oil. (Sir Paragon grows the seeds.) This is ostensibly a scientific mission to Beard Island; Our Beloved Guide, Train Oil, has sent them to collect specimens of Beards. One of the members of the expedition will give Ivy a message. This airship is newer and has never been a whaler; it is fitted out for expeditions with stocks of supplies and some weapons. Their actual mission is essentially recon of the northern dusts.
