A grundle is a member of a species of bipedal humanoids native to [[Grundleland]], separated from classical [[Ponyland]] by the Black Mountains. (By the [[Golden Age]], Grundleland was a province of the Kingdom of Ponyland.) 

Grundles were deemed sufficiently obnoxious by a powerful witch to warrant their land being destroyed in 148 BE. 

The grundles in diaspora have come to a variety of fates, but the species as a whole has diminished since the [[Classical Period]]. Although notably inarticulate and of homely appearance at best, grundles are benevolent beings that are usually friendly, loyal, brave and trustworthy. They are, however, often exploited by more powerful creatures, who may sometimes force them away from their usual tendency to goodness.
Most grundles in the [[Dusts]] live in [[Springvale]] or its surrounding villages. They have no great concentrations of population in any other centers of inhabitation on the [[Isle of Yore]].
