• Irongate

A mining town in the Eastern Dusts, famous for its metalwork. It is situated in the foothills of the Red Mountain. Irongate also produces glass products. Its founding predates the Catastrophe.

Irongate is ruled by the Miner’s Syndicate of Irongate, a powerful trade union, which overthrew a cabal of mining magnates in 3240. Irongate is a usual ally of Trenchtown in the Confederation of Cities owing to their commercial relationship, interest in technological development, and nominally-similar governments.

During PRPG2, the Moderators of Irongate are Carbon Steel, Touchstone, and Sunshine. One moderator's seat is contested in an election each year, in sequence, so that a moderator serves a three-year term. Elections are usually significantly contested.

Most food must be imported to Irongate, as the surrounding country is unsuitable for agriculture, and there is little water. Irongate does not have extensive fuel; Trench Whale oil is coked and used for steelmaking in solar furnaces.
