New Equestria is a constitutional monarchy in the northwest of the Isle of Yore. Its climate is wet enough for drylands [[agriculture]] (290-550mm annual precipitation in most areas), making it distinct from the [[Dusts]] in that regard; it is also known for a lake near the capital, the largest body of water on the Isle of Yore and an enduring mystery to scholars. Its capital is [[New Canterlot]]. The state is divided into civil parishes; the capital's actual level of control over New Equestria's northern regions only approaches its claims of full sovereignty there.
