Story actual progression, AKA stuff that came up on the fly and I need to keep track of and lessons I learned from it:

Session 1:

New Baltimare Hotel ended up having a bar / lounge rather than a restaurant. Restaurant can be recycled elsewhere, I guess.

The party took the ferry the same day instead of staying overnight to catch the aeropony.

Had to come up with a reason for the cannery not to be on the coast (used geothermal power near the Greater Mountain).

Session 2:

Party met governor’s representative, Runshi. Functionally transparent to the larger plot, probably, since she told them the same things the governor would have.

Party traveled into the jungle towards the cannery. Encountered army snails as session end cliffhanger.

Party missed solar disturbance because they were in the shade.

Session 3:

Concrete pad between factory and power station is an access point to underground conduit.

Session 4:

Star and Burdy group got neglected near end of last session. Open this session by giving them a chance to explore and be relevant for a bit.

Missing teenagers / kids found at cannery:

Muru (zebra filly)

Rina (earth zony colt)

Feather Gust (pegasus zony filly)

Dawn Sparkle was at the beach to monitor the sun. She wanted to be somewhere she could keep an eye on it where she wouldn’t seem weird just standing around watching shadows. Pegasi keep the sky above the beaches clear and sunny for tourists, so it was ideal.

Session 5:

Party ate at The Running Eggplant.

The geas was changed in negotiation from a constraining geas to a notification geas.

Session 6:

Dark Spark negotiated for the geas to not reveal specific information in contravention to a previous conflict of interests re confidentiality.

Pace was slower than desired, only got the the first leg of airship travel. This was difficult to avoid given the need for character conversation re the proposed time travel mission.

Session 7:

Twilight Hour (in the past) messed with trying to move the sun. She mostly failed, but created a transient movement that was noticed by Gale.

Hayminnows were left for Dr. Flora Exotica.

Star triggered Mel-Anhu’s circle with stray ritual magic in her prayer to Luna.

Session 8:

Oceanview Lodgings is in Nevershyed now.

Silver Staff is the Archmage of the city of Nevershyed, but not an ensconced archmage (a mostly ceremonial rather than political position).

Session 9:

Turns out pegasi can take off when they're in the water.

Also, lesson learned, don't waste an hour and fifteen minutes arguing over these kinds of stupid things and getting too frustrated to be an effective GM when there's really no point to any of it. Just spend 5-10 minutes to ask for a case to be made, make a decision, and move on.

Session 10:

Factors explaining the presence of less security staff than expected on Sickle Island:

Session 11:

Star's spy-bug got squished. It hurt.

Things discussed in private meeting:

Still possibly need to discuss other things (sun movement, and whether or not Dawn should reveal to Star that she's an alicorn)

Session 12:

Sickle Island lab is 3 years old.

Dawn asked to speak to Spark and Night privately, but didn't actually have that meeting yet.

Burdy has one beacon.

Star has the other.

Hazel has the communicator.

Spark has the translator.

Session 13:

Encountered a running squash in the starting grasslands

Encountered spitting peppers at the marsh

Session 14:

Hazel finds flowers with white petals that gradient to a purple tint at their ends. It's a flat flower of many thin, radiating petals, a bit like a daisy.

Session 15:

Houses in the village are wattle and daub structures. They have distinguishing marks over their doors indicating who lives where. The village is in a valley, on the southern banks of a pond fed by a waterfall.

Got samples of cucumber, tomato, mustard, radish.

Session 16:

Loooooong debate took much longer than expected.

Session 17:

Flamme noted that dissimilar personalities will be helpful in avoiding getting a quick TPK from the care bears, due to the nature of their coercive / mind-altering magic.

Session 18:

Reached deer.

Session 19:

Pig’s name is Digtruffle.

Session 20:

PCs allowed the former slave animals to kill the captured care bears.

Burdy skipped potential information from Megan / Danny. Megan was put off by Burdy’s bluntness and will likely not contact the party again (though she will be monitoring them invisibly while they are in the prehistoric).

Dark Spark earned her cutie mark.

Session 21:

Hazel was flirted with by Daisy Petals, a white and tan piebald earth pony mare with a blonde and orange-streaked mane and cutie mark of three daisies. Chime and Spark cock-blocked him.

Dawn shut down time travel ops when Megan was mentioned. Spark spoke to Dawn in private re elevating this to the curatrix, and about Spark gaining her cutie mark.

Session 22:

Lost the music intended for this session - can reuse somewhere else. Lots of private meetings resulting in OOBs. Pacing was slow, but the cliffhanger worked out well.

Session 23:

Night Chime shot out Dr. Hour’s eye.

Clean Whistle didn’t make it on-screen yet. Ended on cliffhanger with her about to come out of the bushes.

Session 24:

Administrative center of Yore is in New Canterlot.

Kenningess of Martingale’s Haven: Meadow Mist

Session 25:

Square Deal is the trade broker assigned to the crystal ball from Haven island to Shaded Hollow.

Ship captain: Saltwash

Custos contacted by party: Silver Staff

Session 26:

Party hired a cart to help them travel to the Crooked Tower

Night watch unicorn in blue robes was not named

Session 27:

Night watch unicorn in blue robes is named now: Crystalline Structure

Session 28:

Session 30:

Found out clues about Dr. Hour’s departure from the clinic doctor (Horse Cough). Moxie took Star to the Black Brew.

Session 31:

Moxie drugged Star Struck with an alchemical anesthetic. Her intent was to cause an incident that the police would be forced to investigate, in the hopes that they would uncover that Star’s companions were controlling or coercing her in some way. She was convinced of this by the letter she thought was from Star.

Session 32:

Didn’t get out of Steelshoe yet.

Session 33:

Got out of Steelshoe, triggered Tatzlwurm attack with thumper

Session 34:

Didn’t get as far as I’d thought, starting caves at session end

Session 35:

Spider attack poisoned Hazel.

Session 36:

Found the djinn. The game was solved very quickly.

Session 37:

Star is goosed. A courier was called in to take the djinn and the book back to Dawn.
