Ponyism is a political ideology conceived in the 19th century AE by Revolution Rosie. It advocates the abolition of classes and equality between ponies, government elected by the local community, and the redistribution of resources among all equally. It is opposed to monarchy for its rulers are not elected and creates distinctions between aristocrats and commoners. It also opposes serfdom because it is based on the exploitation of serfs by the landowners. Key terms in Revolution Rosie's manifest are Horseoisie, privileged ponies of wealth or nobility and their supporters. Ponyism would seek to deprive these of advantages and reduce them to the same level as all other ponies. The Ponytariat are the ordinary earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi without special status, who work for their communities. Ponycracy is the idea that voting is used to elect rulers and representatives without an appointment or veto from a higher authority, and where every vote is represents only one pony. In the 4th millennia, Trenchtown professes itself to be governed by the Progressive Ponyist Party and advance these ideals.
