justice.

Of course, Lürax honors no treaties with shadhavar; this "extradition"
was secured only by a colossal bribe - you remember well the weight of
the burden of the gold and silver treasure you brought here. And now
you have exchanged that fabulous wealth for the prisoner, whom you are
to escort back to your lord's court. It seems an awfully poor bargain;
Lürax's tender care has nearly done the creature in. Hopefully the
trip will not be too much of a stress, since you'd hate to think of
what Kutesenes might do if you came back without his gold _or_ a
living prisoner...

Tashequ is a young and ambitious mare, whose talent in combat has not gone unnoticed by Kutesenes' guard, of which she is a member. Her rise has been limited a bit by her penchant for getting into duels constantly, even in contexts in which it is frowned upon. She is a good physical fighter, and has some skills with spellsong as well.

Aringades is a noble, a second cousin of Kutesenes. Something of an anomaly among his people, Aringades is a scholar, who reads and writes several languages. Peshnu is a healer and midwife. Although older, she is physically fit and healthy. She has a good knowledge of herbs and alchemy, and is fair with spellsong as well, using it to augment her healing. She has many children and grandchildren of her own, and while she likes spending time with her clan, she values time alone and often goes on long journeys alone to see distant places.

Qurendes is a noble, the niece of Kutesenes. Her passion is hunting, with blades and spellsong, at which she is quite skilled. Her position in the castle guard was intended as a sinecure, but she took it seriously, and her effectiveness is feared in the criminal world.
