A flying squirrel, the daughter of a physics (primarily quantum) professor at Dandulena Royal University, Dr. Lavinia Atwood (and Sergeant Cyrus Atwood, deceased), and herself a librarian at that institution, Garnet also now works as a part-time contractor for the RIS after having gotten caught up in a previous case they handled. In addition to her ready access to the university library, she personally possesses a variety of esoteric knowledge, and of more practical use, she's a member of a private "book club" with sometimes surprising connections in both high and low places.
