letter contents: Informing her of the discovery of pre-catastrophe ruins in New Canterlot and a sale of salvaged technological bits.

letter: Inviting her to give a performance in New Canterlot for generous compensation.

The Whale's Egg

This is an inn of two stories (plus a third story penthouse). On the first floor, there is a kitchen, bakery, pantry, privies, a bath, scullery, and a large common room with a bar. On the second story are twenty-four guest rooms and a sitting room. The roof is flat and accessible. The inn is located on the cliffside at the southernmost extremity of the Edge.

The ponies there may sing a whaling song of some kind. The common room is lit by a fireplace and trench-whale oil lamps.

Jade Jubilee is staying upstairs in room #18, alone (unusually, most of the rooms have two beds and 2-4 occupants. Jade's room has two beds, but she's only using one.) She comes down to the common room at sundown for dinner, but otherwise stays in the sitting room upstairs, as she prefers the quiet. However, on the day of 18 Corn, Jade is off trying to find books to read, having become very bored, and may be harder to find depending on the time of day when the players look for her.

Vicinity of the Whale's Egg

It is next to a two-story building of modest size, the Shady Deeps Oil Company to the west, and the town hall, also smaller than the Inn, to the east, on Cliff Street. North of Cliff Street is Main Street, and north of that is Market street. Also on main street is a park opposite town hall, a disreputable bar ("The Coarse Horse"), a general store, another inn (and brothel), the Winking Wisp, an former semaphore telegraph station and office now used as the residence of an astronomer, Star Spoon; a doctor's office; a blacksmith, and a caravan repair yard. On market street there are several markets and stores, a root cellar and warehouse complex, and more of the caravan repair yard, including a landing area; an herbalist's shop, and a scholarly stationary supply store and the offices upstairs of the water company. The street extends about a hundred meters further west with only minor residential and agricultural development to an area where the night soil and garbage dump facility is located, and also a chemical refinery of the Shady Deeps Oil Company.
