'Starmetal' Characters

This is the roster of pregenerated characters and player character selections for the Starmetal Campaign.

Pregenerated Characters:

Daisy Chain:

Pink earth pony, golden blonde mane

Daisy is the daughter of a single mother, and the two of them eke out a meager living farming a small plot of land. Visiting the grinding mill as a young filly imparted into Daisy a lifelong fascination with wheels, gears, springs, and all other manner of mechanical workings. This interest has been put to good use creating machines that ease the burdens of her family's agricultural labor, ingeniously designed despite being cobbled together in rather hedgecraft fashion. Encouraged by her mother, she would like nothing more than to go to a school to study engineering, and one day perhaps even learn how to incorporate magic into her creations... but how is a poor farm filly from a peasant family with no reputation supposed to get the necessary recommendations to be accepted to a prestigious institution of higher education?

Cloud Swirl:

Orange pegasus, yellow mane

Cloud Swirl is a foremare in the local weather team. She enjoys the satisfaction of bringing sun and rain in their proper proportions to the farms of the area, but sometimes feels the itch for a more adventurous task. The big fireball that unexpectedly came through is just such an opportunity, as well as it being her responsibility to investigate any effects it may have had on the weather. Having recently become pregnant with her first foal certainly isn't going to be enough to keep her from seizing the opportunity... and the local archmage being willing to pay extra to those who can set out immediately on an expedition doesn't hurt, either, since the money is sure to be helpful for the new family she has on the way.

Sky Seeker:

White unicorn, pale green mane

Sky Seeker is a generalist mage by profession and an avid amateur astronomer in her spare time, and very curious about what crashed to Equus early this morning. Whether or not there's any truth to ancient tales of 'stars' that fell to Equus is, apparently, on the cusp of being definitively answered, and Sky Seeker doesn't intend to miss being on the forefront of such an exciting new discovery. The possibility of earning some money on the venture is an additional attraction, perhaps allowing her to finally afford some better instruments and tools to advance her magical practice with.

Marigold:

Chestnut hinnycorn, white mane

The daughter of a unicorn father and a donkey mother, Marigold is a florist who specializes in her namesake flower. Although she has a horn and resembles a unicorn pony in most ways, her long ears give away her mixed heritage, leading to her often being teased as filly and having difficulty becoming fully integrated in some aspects of town social life. Despite being self-conscious and shy about it, she tries to make the best of her unique position: while fairly skilled at unicorn magic taught to her by her father, she also has her mother's particular sensitivity for earth magic. The combination has made her a very skillful cultivator of some of the most beautiful flowers to be found in the area. She might be able to do more and greater things with this rare duality of talents, too, if only she could get the attention of a mentor who could help her more fully develop these abilities.

Sandwich Shenanigans:

Cream colored earth pony, blue and pink striped mane

Sandwich runs a small food cart in town, specializing in (what else?) unusual sandwiches. Beyond just food, however, she's an avid collector of all kinds of curios and interested in the offbeat of any sort... and the trail of fire that blazed its way through the sky early this morning was the most offbeat thing she's ever seen happen to this town. Naturally, she finds it irresistible and must see for herself where it — whatever it was — crashed to Equus. Maybe if she's lucky, it might even provide her with something to serve as the crown jewel of her collection and the perfect centerpiece for the combination novelty shop and museum of oddities she hopes to open someday.

Shy Sunset:

Patched blue pegasus, white mane

Shy Sunset is a sculptor and potter, and often goes far into the field to dig for her own clay. Although not very sociable, she has learned a little about amateur geology out of necessity, and her great knowledge of the land and areas surrounding the town might make her a helpful guide. She usually has to rent kiln space for firing her works from another artisan in town with a much larger studio, which grates on her sense of independence and do-it-yourself sensibilities. This opportunity for an influx of bits, combined with some money she's been carefully saving up, could make it possible for her to finally have a kiln of her own.

Cadence Hammer:

Dappled purple unicorn, patched pale lavender mane

Cadence is a blacksmith, contracted by the local government to supply weapons for the town's small force of constables and police. A highly skilled magical craftspony, her telekinesis is nuanced and precise in both delicate detail work and the powerful blows of her hammer. Always interested in finding ways to expand her craft, she often collaborates with her friend Night Eyes, the provincial archmage, to conduct experiments on new materials and processes. This morning's fiery sky presented the most exciting prospect yet, promising a radically new type of rare metal to work with... if somepony can just go get some of it.

Daylily:

Pale cream flutterpony, pink mane

Daylily, one of the swiftest and strongest fliers among the flutterponies, was dispatched from Flutter Valley early this morning, tasked by Queen Rosedust with investigating the fire blazing through the pre-sunrise sky. She arrived in town just in time to find other ponies gathering for an expedition to the crash site, and seeks to join them to assess what dangers or opportunities (if any) may be posed to her people by the impact and its potential fallout. Although lacking most of the cloud-based weather manipulation abilities of pegasi, she is good at directing the winds with her diaphanous wings.
