<> Teardrop Island is a small volcanic island Northeast of the Isle of Yore, in a minor chain of ancient volcanic activity that also includes the [[White Island]] and the [[Watchmount]]. The volcano is called the Weeping Mountain. The origin of the name is obscure in the present day, but it is definitely precatastrophic. The region is generally thought to be nearly uninhabited and is not capable of supporting agriculture; an operation to found a colony on the nearby White Island failed due to the lack of an accessible aquifer. Although it was abandoned by the time of the Catastrophe, Teardrop Island was once the site of a coaling station of the Royal Equestrian Fleet. The Kingdom of Ponyland had leased Teardrop Island to Equestria for this purpose, facilitating allied naval operations in the Ocean of Dreams.
