Sometimes referred to as Dream Telepathy, the magic involves to construction of structured sections of the dreamscape via magic and discipline. By far the most common usage of this practice is that of the "Dreamers", a magical communication network used within a subsection of zebra culture.

A relatively small section of zebra society has always been made up of nomads, be they traders or tinkerers, adventurers and mercenaries, couriers, entertainers, or scholars. Always a dangerous way to live, traveling where they do not know if they will be accepted in a new town or preyed upon by monsters or bandits on the road. Thus, within an even smaller section of these nomads, a practice that has been traced back two millennia or more came about.

When zebra nomads pass each other on the road they have taken to sharing a particular alchemical elixir that creates between them a shared, static space within the [[Dreamscape]], a plane known for being anything but static, and a deep connection between the two prospective dreamers' souls. The contents of this elixir are a relatively well-guarded secret typically shared only with those that can be both trusted to keep it and not to abuse it.

So long as the dreamer is a skilled alchemist, or is monitored and attended to frequently by a skilled alchemist, the shared dreamscape born of the elixir is thought to last roughly between three to four years. During this time, whenever either dreamer sleeps, they are capable of traveling to any one of the shared dreamspaces they have formed with others.

Within this space the dreamers' minds are linked, bypassing all typical requirements for communication like language or even sensory perception. Thoughts, feelings, and sensations are all shared seamlessly through the dreamers' collective unconscious irrespective of physical distance, whether the two are separated by centimeters or by the entire expanse of the planet itself.

Through this practice dreamers could warn fellow travelers of both dangers and opportunities throughout the land, confident in the security through obscurity the very nature of the dreamscape provides. Of course, it also allows them to spend time together any time they sleep in a connection between souls about as intimate as two people could possibly have.

Some enterprising zebra even make it a point to form these connections with as many nomads as possible in order to sell their services as a conveyer of news and messages, though the need for every dreamer to constantly be on the move to help the network spread has generally prevented any one of the dreamers from settling down in any permanent fashion.

''Addendum: While the traditional elixir is rarely shared with outsiders (and, additionally, requires at least some skill in alchemy and significant mental discipline to create and maintain the shared space within the Dreamscape), less refined versions of the elixer have been discovered. These have been known to allow temporary sharing, usually requiring physical contact in order for the dreamers to find each other within the Dreamscape, but subsequently require much less time and skill to create.''
