The Magisterium
Although the Magisterium did not exist at the time of the Magisters Wars yet, it was founded as a reaction against the outcome by staunchly conservative magic users opposed to the spread of inhibitor technology and the limitations they imposed on their power. The Magisterium tries to act as an authority on magic in Ponecia, but this claim is not taken serious even within the organization. They maintain a number of magic colleges to both teach ponies to become powerful mages and inculcate them with their beliefs. They also control workshops and manufactories producing enchanted wares, alchemical potions, artefacts and more.
The Magisterium's politics are opposed to inhibitor technology, which they consider an unwarranted restriction on the power of mages and an attempt to equalize Ponecian society by bringing unicorns down to the level of non-magic users. Unicorns who contribute to the development and spread of inhibitor technology are seen as race traitors by them. They are fine with the use of magitech to enhance magical abilities and society. They are vocal about the alleged impact of magic pollution on unicorns. But still embrace modern industry, technology and styles, and much of it is in fact made possible by the application of enchanted material and magical science.
Their hybrid education service/industrial conglomerate is generally considered another corporation, but its management and governing body is highly politicized, with a conclave of wizards voting like shareholders on matters of ideology and politics, and in complete secrecy. The majority are made up by the magisters, who are wizards of proven ability and 'wisdom' (i.e. like-minded) and all have a vote. The archons are limited in number, but elected whenever a seat becomes available by the lower ranked magisters. Archons have priority when speaking to address the conclave and are often the ones to spearhead any initiative, with the magisters rarely having a chance to do the same.
Raven Mad
An archon of the conclave. His wife died several years ago of ovarian cancer after having previously survived a horn tumor that left her without magic. Raven Mad has convinced himself that it was a resurgent horn cancer that killed her and is unrelentingly opposed to magic pollution and inhibitor technology, which he blames for the death of the love of his life.
