The Great Qin Road is a long and wide stone road in the northern Earth Kingdom built on the orders of Qin the Great.

The Road was built to facilitate Qin's troop movements during his attempt to overthrow the Hao Ting dynasty. Construction began in the 290s BG. The main strategic purpose of the road was to deliver troops from Qin's base of power in the West to the heartland of the Central Earth Kingdom, bypassing the Abka line and other defenses by traveling through the North. The Northern Earth Kingdom had poor road infrastructure and few canals at this time. It was not considered passable by large armies, owing to its alternately mountainous terrain and swampy lowlands, thick forests, and harsh winter climate. The Qin Road, and its associated engineering works (bridges, tunnels) and waystations changed this situation dramatically.

Besides its use for troop movements, and other obvious logistical and communications advantages, the project was deliberately designed to be impressive and project Qin's authority as hegemon, and possibly future Earth King. Civilian applications were also planned from the start, and, long after Qin's fall, the road remains in use.

Many of the more impressive features of the Great Qin Road are decorated with statuary of Qin Ji himself. The great majority of these were defaced by the Hao Ting after Qin's fall, though as the statues were often load bearing structural features, they are often still recognizable as depictions of the distinctively-built and armored Qin.

The Road was built, unsurprisingly, with earthbending. Large numbers of military and civil earthbenders from Chenbao and the Yonggan State participated, and a huge number of trained badgermoles. Some of the most impressive works of civil earthbending are in the Celestial Mountains of the Yonggan State, including the Holboni Dabagan monument where the Great Qin Road met the Sun Road leading to Gainan, and the Great Qin Pass south of Mt. Dai, which spares travelers from a difficult alpine trek that is often impassible until early Summer.

The Great Qin Pass is so long that Qin's engineers were concerned that natural ventilation from the ends would be insufficient when marching the hegemon's army through it, and so they built a central ventilation shaft at the midpoint, with a great furnace to create an artificial draft. This furnace has not been used as such since Qin's day, as ordinary traffic on the road is not an issue. Nowadays, the huge furnace chamber is sometimes used as a campsite by those passing through.

There are many other tunnels and bridges besides.
