"Title: Bush Beaters

The BushBeater's are a problem solvers agency working out of Brassflower, one of the largest and most famous of the flying cities in the Bunworld setting. As with most such groups you'll take on the various jobs and adventures brought to you by clients needing your unique expertise.

Bunworld, so a very much steampunk setting and taking place especially among the airship filled skies of the planet."

first mission/character creation:

"Session Bckg
With the wide array of issues that problem solvers get asked to handle, it should come as no surprise that sometimes clients send representatives to speak on their behalf. That's what happened a few days ago. A young vulp by the name of Libidi arrived with papers identifying her as the attendant of Elder Vivicus, councilwoman to the city of Podcasi and head of the Sangbatus College of Magics, a hefty background that more than spoke for the potential for rewards in both finance and reputation. Libidi explained that an outside party was needed to provide support, potentially of a violent nature for some issue involving the use and ownership of a unique cavern near Podcasi. Though she had been given little enough in details and normally the Bushbeaters might have been more hesitant to accept such an ambiguous job indirectly, but the large back of precious gems turned over as a downpayment excused a lot of questions. The job accepted the Beater Mk 4 took to the skies and made the short trip to the old city of Kagira and the passage to the subterranean city found near there where you will meet your client.

Character Creation:
Bckg: Your characters are employees of the Bushbeater Problem Solvers (est. 60 AC). A Problem Solvers company established by Rose Thorn in the flying city Sahajr (commonly called Saha). Problem Solvers are mix of adventurer and investigator and as such are always ready to hire a diverse array of individuals. Rose especially has no prejudices and is ready to give a chance to any one who might be helpful to have on his payroll.

"Pregens:

Name: Icemouth(She/Her)
Species:Skvader (Crowned)
Strengths: Master Healer and Surgeon
Weakness: Pacifist
Bio: Icemouth was trained out of the Kund College of Surgeons and Healers and joined the Tsarcrov navy when an attempt to run an extensive campaign against piracy put out a call for increased manning and support. Icemouth served with the already veteran Rose Thorn and saved her life during an otherwise fatal conflict. The injury forced Rose's retirement and, although she served another 5 years in the navy, when she left she heard of Rose's new business and, having been impressed by the buns resilience and bravado, decided to offer her services as a healer and medical expert.

Name: Petal Fall (He/Him)
Species: Almiraj
Strengths: Skilled wielder of Maia-Ki and Limia-Ki, Master of Ziwa-Ki
Weakness: Complete lack of mechanical skills, Petal is a borderline techno-phobe and gets uncomfortable when working around complex machinery.
Bio: As an orphan taken in by the Tsarcrov Mossy Rock monastery, one of the locations known for developing the 5 Ah-ki, it was inevitable that he would also be trained in those arts. While petal did not turn out to be some exceptional genius, he was able to master one of the ways before his own wander lust and desire for adventure, something the monks believe he inherited from his parents, took hold and he left the monastery. After leaving he began traveling the world using his mystical arts to pay for his journey. He eventually found his way to Sahajr and Rose Thorn's employ. Although the city as a whole makes him uncomfortable, with its constant prevalence of machinery, his work at as a Problem Solver has done quite well in giving him a fulfilling sense of adventure.

Name: Briar Thorn (He/him)
Species: Almiraj
Strengths: Skilled Pilot and mechanic, good shot with a pistol
Weakness: Noisy, boisterous, and undisciplined.
Bio: Rose Thorn's son and only child, it was simultaneously surprising and inevitable that Briar would find himself involved in his mother's business. Though not in the measure typical for such things. Briar had always been one to delight in the flying machines of his world and had managed to get apprenticed to a mechanist early enough in life. During the whole of his apprenticeship, and a fair bit into his own career as a guild recognized mechanist he spent any spare time and resources slowly designing and assembling the airship of his dreams. When he completed the Beater Mk 1 it gave his mother the idea to use this resource to expand her, at the time, limited Problem Solver business. Unlike other authority figures in the buck's life, Briar had never been good at refusing demands from his mother and so agreed when pressed to join the Rose Bush Problem Solvers as a mechanic. Though the two butt heads often (the most ugly of which being that fight which resulted in the renaming of the company and the loss of the Beater Mk 2) they have achieved a passable working relationship.

Name: Ostein Shadecrawl (She/Her)
Species: Vulp
Strengths: Stealthy, skilled with lockpicks, traps, and daggers
Weakness: Scrawny and has a criminal background
Bio: In Kagira, the underworld is ruled by a figure known as "The Rust Vixen" a Vulp who has managed to weave her fingers into every stretch of the criminal world in many cities. Such an empire needs many things, and this includes a lot of experts in bypassing security. Shadecrawl was one of those experts. Born to a family living on the streets of that surface city, the closest she ever got to seeing the underground homelands of her people were the sprawling sewers of that city. Like many in that situation she found her way into a life of crime and eventually to the employ of the Rust Vixen. She spent a decade or so like that, making her living by bypassing locks, traps, and alarms, all to help grow the criminal empire that had provided her shelter. However such groups are prone to power struggles and Shadecrawl eventually found her gang on the wrong side of an attempted coupe. Though the rest of her gang were killed, Shadecrawl refused to stand beside them against the rest of the Rust Vixen's empire. As a result she was allowed to go free and she chose to leave her home town in pursuit of somewhere else her skills could find her work. Needing the skills of someone like her almost as much as any criminal enterprise, it was no surprise she quickly found work with a Problem Solvers company.

Name: Wave Walk (They/Them)
Species: Dwarf Bun
Strengths: Master mechanic and trapsmith, good with a mallet
Weakness: Near-sighted (wears glasses/goggles to compensate), inexperienced
Bio: Wave's family has an enormous history of producing amazing seers, crowned dwarf buns whose blindness seems to beget them even greater prognostic abilities. However Wave inherited none of this beyond some slight vision problems and as such they grew up in a family that only casually seemed to care about them or what they did. Thus while they were happy enough to help Wave in their interest in mechanics, there was no real complaint raised when the young bun entered into an apprenticeship at an exceptionally young age to a local mechanic and pilot by the name of Briar Thorn. Even as they learn more and more about mechanisms from the almiraj buck, they also have been picking up a great deal about trap mechanisms from Ostein, the normally shady and secretive vulp developing something of a soft spot for the nearsighted bun.

Name: Iron Arm (birth name Iron Shell) (She/Her)
Species: Rex (crowned)
Strengths: Master with most forms of close quarters combat, skilled at magic to enhance bodies and manipulate souls
Weakness: Missing one arm (has prosthetic), Missing tongue (communicates through a mixture of sign language and writing.)
Bio: Iron Arm is a veteran of many battles and has been doing mercenary work since her youth. Though initially she simply strove to do so on the virtue of her sheer physical strength, a timely encounter with a fellow mercenary and one of the few remaining necromancers among rex buns lead to her adding some sizeable magical prowess to her repertoire as well. She did this for decades, fighting all around the world and on many fronts, until being defeated and taken prisoner by a group of sky pirates. Though she tried to return to her work after her escape many of her former comrades found her changed, becoming more cautious and a reduction in her once infamous fighting spirit. As the jobs wound down she eventually found herself listlessly drifting from one tavern to another. It was in this state, mostly having given up on her life, that Iron Arm was found by Rose Thorn, a one time comrade and current owner of a Problem Solver company. Though Rose claims to be eager to take advantage of Iron Arm's impressive skillset and experience, the aged rex harbors dread that this job was offered more out of pity than anything else.

*The Ways of Spirits, also known as the 5 Ah-Ki, is a method of practicing magic by way of discipline, physical, and mental training. The creators of these techniques claimed that these were the techniques the spirits employed in their magic and myth, while most modern thaumatological research suggests it is a way of using the body, mind, and rudimentary thaumic organs in all buns to mimic the function of the horns in crowned buns. The Ways are divided into 5 schools of technique; Maia, the manipulation of energy outside of the body (producing fire, electricity, and wind), Limia, the manipulation of energy within other's bodies (producing healing, poisons, and growth), Ziwa, the manipulation of energy within one's own body, Shila, the perception of energy (used for divination and magical detection), and lastly Geeha, the manipulation of energy to effect spirits and souls. Only the first four ways occur with any degree of frequency and only 3 recorded masters of Geeha have existed."
