A sentient quadruped native to the desert regions of Equus. Camels thrive in the Dusts, moreso than ponies, but are quite variable in their disposition toward other species. Peaceful trade with pony and zebra settlements is usual for the typically nomadic camels, but violence is not unheard of either; caution is advised. Upland camels often congregate in Great Oasis, but the Bactrian Bazaar is the definitive point of contact between the upland civilization and the lowland nomads near the Isle of Yore.
Mainland Ponyland (distinct from the Isle of Yore and its surroundings) is said to be dominated by upland camel warlords, but camels are mostly inhabitants of the lowlands.
