Name: Mahthilt (She/Her)

Generation: 1st (Wartime)

Bio: Designed as versatile heavy infantry/combat engineer units, Mahthilt's line was one of the final products of one of the few dedicated military production facilities to survive the opening attacks of the war. Her line ended up being a short run, due to the facility being relatively small to begin with and not surviving much longer past that, but the design, already mostly complete when the war started, proved its worth as the war went on. Significantly stronger, more robust, and easier to repair than a human, and capable of repairing themselves and other materiel, they were also able to work closely alongside humans more easily than many other contemporary military or industrial robots, directly use most equipment and interface with most systems designed for human use, and more flexibly pursue goals than many robots designed for more narrow, controlled environments and/or more direct human oversight.

Earth's infrastructure was increasingly devastated, however, while the enemy's unknown and untouchable home sent a seemingly unending tide of invaders, each already stronger than the best peer the defenders could offer and seeming to grow yet more so as the war continued; like those of the humans and other robots of Earth, the numbers of Mahthilt's line still active steadily dwindled. While the dispersal of her line during the war means that there might be other survivors of it outside communication distance, Mahthilt is the only one known to New Sanctuary. Her own last contact with any others, or any humans, was some time before what would turn out to be the final battle of the war; she was part of a group sent out to scout, and by the time they returned, their base had been thoroughly destroyed, with no signs of other survivors. She and a shifting group of other robots wandered after that, trying to find a base or front line (or for some of them, simply somewhere safe they could hope to wait out the war), and though they did eventually find their way to the Joytell factory, it was after the final battle, and with it the total war, had concluded.

Since then, Mahthilt has worked as a guard and mechanic, and occasional heavy-things-mover when a doll with a more dedicated heavy-things-moving body isn't available for a task, for the refugees she found herself with and then for the settlement they helped found, New Sanctuary. While her design as a mentally and physically versatile combat model from the start, rather than being something else hastily and haphazardly modified for combat and desperately thrown to the front lines, has contributed to her mental health being well above average for dolls of her generation, she's aware that almost every doll now functional was designed for the world as it is -- and she, with the other surviving pre-G2 dolls, isn't. Nor are even the remaining G1 dolls exactly full peers; their experiences in the war were almost all shorter and with less combat than hers, but also far worse for them. While happy to put her skills to work for the community, she can be somewhat distant socially.

In her downtime she enjoys observing and contemplating nature, along with reading about it and human history.

Form: Mahthilt's body is humanoid, approximately two meters tall, and sturdily built (though still within the proportions a human soldier might have). In addition to being able to use body armor designed for humans in large enough sizes, it features built-in mounts for armor plates that can be used as an additional line of defense. While her body is mostly exposed metal, functional components, or protective components, her head features a display visor (her only facial feature) that can be used for "eyes" or various graphics, brightened for light, or turned off for stealth (the visor is, naturally, underlain by more metal with indirect routing to internal systems, and her head is primarily for sensory and communication purposes anyway). Her wrists incorporate (usually covered) sockets for fitting secondary hands optimized for fine manipulation, as opposed to her more robust and durable primary hands. A shoulder hardpoint provides a place to mount an integrated light weapon or other mission module.

Programs: Athletics, Firearms, Melee Weapons, Tactics, Explosives, Mechanics (including field repair), Vehicle operation

Tools (example set): heavy tribarrel gauss rifle (with deployable bayonet), exterior battery pack for same, ammunition, set of tools, pair of secondary fine-manipulation hands, body armor, rope and grappling hook, pack for carrying things
