Archived GM Notes: This page is unsealed GM-notes pertaining to PRPG2. It is not canonical to PRPG2. It may contain contradictions (even with itself), and preliminary ideas that were merely written down as I thought of them, for later consideration. The absence of something mentioned here from the canon does not necessarily mean that the party "missed" it, it could have been mooted for other reasons or simply discarded by me.

Hackmore / Hoofmount Region

The Mound

The Mound is the ruin of an ancient city that was destroyed in the Catastrophe.

The Mound was once a city called Hoofburg.

There are a lot of rough types around the Mound.

*The Mound was ruined before the Catastrophe, by an industrial accident. Parts are still polluted.

*An ancient magical-industrial facility in the Mound exploded and produced the crystal forest.

Earthdrop

Earthdrop was founded by survivors from a ruined city called Hoofburg.

*Earthdrop is so-named because the Earth pony slaves of the first Queen of New Equestria dropped dead unloading her ship there. (Note that this is not only false but stupid; the oceans had fallen by the time that New Equestria had a queen.)

Missionaries of the Overseen have been proselytizing in Earthdrop, and their converts are being harassed by the government.

*Some Followers of the Overseen were martyred in Earthdrop.

Luna City

Luna City was named after Princess Luna during a time of exceptionally good diplomatic relations between Equestria and Ponyland.

Princess Luna once visited Luna City, and donated the Moon Rock of which the old town hall is made.

*Luna City is a hotbed of anti-government activity, and separatists wish to split from New Equestria.

There is a thieves guild somewhere in Luna City, underground (literally)'

Organized crime has taken root in Luna City.

Cherry

The village of Cherry is having a problem with Army Squirrels.

*The village of Cherry is having a problem with zombie squirrels.

*The village of Cherry is afflicted by a plague of undead. Why won't the government stop it?

The village of Cherry had poor crops this year because of vermin.

Fort Junechase

Troops have been pulled away from Fort Junechase, leaving bandit activities in Hackmore Parish unchecked.

*The commander of fort Junechase has converted to the Overseen secretly.

Fort Junechase can be avoided, despite its strategic position, by taking a certain path in the mountains.

Old Fairgrounds

Old Fairgrounds is an agricultural village named for its role as host to a traditional faire, but that faire has been canceled by order of New Canterlot two years running.

*Old Fairgrounds is becoming a ghost town since the faire was canceled.

The Old Fairgrounds used to be the best place to trade in salt and liquor in the New Equestrian countryside.

Bert

Bert is a quiet farming town; a farmer named McPlough has many lonely daughters.

*Bert is beset by Army Squirrels.

Hackmore Hills

Hackmore Hills has grown a lot lately, and there is money to be made there.

The speed of Hackmore Hills' growth has been a real challenge to law enforcement. Opportunity for criminals abounds there.

The Hoofmount

The Hoofmount doesn't really resemble a hoof from the air.

Crystal Forest

The crystal forest has been growing South of the Mound.

An old wisepony in Great Turnip predicted that the crystal forest will overtake the Mound within two years. (The rumor is true but the old wisepony is wrong.)

New Equestrian Royalty

Queen Meridian has not been seen since in public the Summer Sun Celebration.

Parliament named the crown prince Daybreak reagent because Queen Meridian is ill.

*The Queen is reportedly very ill and may soon die.

*Prince Daybreak has a reputation for caprice and the Parliament is foolish to name him reagent or allow him to remain Crown Prince.

New Equestria Generally

Food prices have increased over the last few years.

Expansion of the crystal forest has been very rapid near Little Trottingham. It might be overtaken in a few years.

*Religious cults have been spreading rapidly in New Equestria, despite the government's efforts to suppress them.

Farther Away

*A plague of Hoofrot is spreading in the Northern Dusts.

There are fire-worshipers on Tephra Island.
