Kutesenes the Leper, Prince of the Windy Castle was a shadhavar prince, an early ruler of the Windy Castle in the Wailing Wastes. The great-grandson of Marinenides, the exiled Shadhavar chieftain who built the castle, his clan would eventually unite the shadhavar around the Windy Castle (however loosely) and become the Princes and Princesses of the Wailing Wastes.

Kutesenes was afflicted with leprosy. When Eldritch Lore first visited the Dread Dimensions, she offered him a cure for his disease, but only at the cost of one of several shadhavar artifacts in his possession. Kutesenes offered her an immense quantity of gold instead, but Eldritch had eyes only for irreplaceable cultural treasures. With negotiations not going anywhere, Eldritch stole the Score of Ursheqan, a legendary magical tome with a mystical link to the musical sigil-marks of all descendants of Marinenides and fled. While she successfully avoided Kutesenes' warriors searching for her, she was instead captured by bounty hunters hired by Luerax the Lubricious.

Taken by the bounty hunters, Eldritch put a note to Kutesenes in the Score of Ursheqan, explaining her situation, pleading for mercy, and offering the cure simply in exchange for her freedom. As a token of ostensible good faith, Eldritch told the bounty hunters that the priceless Shadhavar tome was merely of modest sentimental value to Kutesenes and suggested that they might return it to him for a reward before dropping her off with Luerax. The bounty hunters, unfortunately for Eldritch, decided to return the book after collecting their bounty on Eldritch, but Kutesenes did receive the book, and the message from Eldritch, in time to act on it. He dispatched a group of his warriors under the leadership of his niece, Qurendes, bearing a huge ransom. Luerax was swayed by the offer, and surrendered her prisoner to Kutesenes' warriors.

Eldritch cured Kutesenes in return for sparing her life, and she was banished from his lands. Kutesenes lived a long life thereafter, cured of his affliction, before passing his dominion onto his daughter.
