Sacrists are religious officials of the Solar Temple, responsible for the administration of the temple's property. This includes seeing that religious buildings are maintained, endowments and properties are profitably managed, and religious workers' needs are provided for. They also oversee the temple's charitable works and assist sacramental clergy (e.g. speculators) in preparing for rituals. Sacrists are traditionally female (and often the wife of a speculator, but this has never been a official requirement.) In the Unsullied Temple, male sacrists are more common, though there is still a female predominance.
Sacrists may advance in rank to become Conservators, who have a larger oversight responsibility.
