Warrant

SEARCH WARRANT

In the Magistrates' Court for Cirrotai Village District,

Warrant to enter and search the premises of the Thalaivan Auto-Aero-Instrument Company and the residence(s) of Mr. Harton Thalaivan for material relating to an indictable offense issued under Section 4 of the Criminal Evidence and Investigations Act 4780.

(... Omitted details of the property address, and filing reference numbers of the document)

There are reasonable grounds for believing that there is material on the premises aforesaid which is likely to be of substantial value to the investigation of the following indictable offenses:

I am satisfied that a serious indictable offense has been committed in the case of Ms. Visal, namely murder, and that while the circumstances surrounding Mr. Ailkaradi's death are less clear at this time, there is a high probability given the similarity of the circumstances that he was also murdered. The nature of the method, to wit the use of self-luminous paint to disguise the likely perpetrator or an accomplice as a legendary revenant and thereby play on the superstition of the local population to frustrate the ends of justice, is uncommon and distinctive. It is publicly advertised that the factory above is known to manufacture products using such paint, and the investigators have established to my satisfaction that a connection and motive exist in the relation of the factory's beneficial owner, Mr. Harton Thalaivan, to the crime and its victims. It is necessary that this warrant be issued because material for forensic comparison, and relevant business records, can not otherwise be obtained.

MATERIAL AUTHORIZED TO BE SEARCHED FOR AND SEIZED:

Self-luminous paint, used containers thereof, pigments, binders, dyes, coatings, or solvents such as diethyl ether or chloroform. Business records related to the acquisition, use, storage, manufacture, or disposal of self-luminous paint or associated materials and solvents, including but not limited to customer orders and production records that would establish the inventory and disposition of such items. Clothing, tools, applicators, protective equipment, or other items that bear traces of paint and might be connected to the crimes. Records of keyholders, locks, keys, and other security measures that protect access to the premises in general and to self-luminous paint or its components in particular. Records of employees, addresses, phone numbers, and demographic information such as age and species.

POWERS OF SEARCH AND ENTRY: Under this warrant, any duly authorized officer of the Rodent Investigative Service, the chartered private detective agency of Michael Belka, may enter and search the premises on one occasion only, using reasonable force if necessary, at any time within three days of the date of issue. While executing the warrant, the officers may examine, test, sample or photograph any items found, seize any material listed above for a duration of time necessary for forensic investigation and the conduct of the criminal case, and search or seize any other material reasonably believed to be evidence of the indictable offenses under investigation. This warrant shall be executed during the daytime. An endorsement of execution must be returned to this Court promptly after the use of the Warrant. This warrant authorizes the officers to interview anyone present on the premises in a mutually agreeable situation of privacy, but does not compel anyone present to answer their questions or allow them to be detained unless otherwise authorized by law under the circumstances then prevailing.

Issued, this day of (...), 4794.
