Founder of the Arcane Helix. Little is known today of her early life except that she was a late bloomer with respect to magical talent. A contemporary of Starswirl the Bearded, she was rumored to have also been his lover, and to have been an Earth-Unicorn. The veracity of these claims is unclear. The Great Runes is of course best known as the first Loremaster of the Arcane Helix. Although renowned for her wide fund of general knowledge, her area of greatest expertise was Nature-magic.
