The Isle of Stonepipes is the southermost of the volcanic Hayminnow Islands, themselves south of the Eastern Dusts. It is the youngest of the islands geologically, and the volcano which dominates it, the Yellow Mountain, has been active throughout recorded history. The last major eruption of the Yellow Mountain occured in 2817 AE, although minor eruptions occur every few years, rarely with loss of life. The Isle is replete with lava tube caves (the titular "stone pipes," a calque from the Zebra Koine) and hot springs, the latter of which draw a few tourists, mostly from urban Hayminnow.
There are two villages on the Isle of Stonepipes, Sulfur Well and Safehill. Industrial activities are farming and sulfur mining. There is reportedly a community of religious separatists living on the island as well.
