A chain of five upland plateaus what were once volcanic islands in the Ocean of Dreams, located east of Docktown in the Eastern Dusts. In those days, their primary industry was the harvesting of hayminnows from the surrounding oceans. They are inhabited mainly by zebras (77%), with a pony minority (16%). The islands are self-sufficient in basic necessities but engage in regular trade with pony settlements in the Eastern Dusts. The capital of the Hayminnow Islands, itself named Hayminnow, is a sizeable city, the second most populous jurisdiction in the Dusts after Docktown. The Hayminnow Islands are a constitutional monarchy under Duchess Aflori, whose dynasty dates to the 27th century AE at the latest but claims to have come to power in the Royal Age after overthrowing a foreign regime.

Some of the Hayminnow Islands are now linked by very long, narrow suspension bridges. Travel between islands not so linked, and between them and the former mainland, is now by switchback paths descending the islands, by glider, or by an airship purchased from Irongate.
