Justice Wick is an... eccentric figure on the mon scene, known for his varied interests and wide range of connections, as well as a somewhat unusual lucky streak. He just always seems to be in the right place, with the right people, and with the right leverage, to almost-always come out on top. This has resulted in the outgoing figure counting both the likes of Marcus Jobe, CEO of uMon, and Sara Weatherby, the prodigal head of the movement for mon freedom, as among his "closest friends".
These connections have afforded him many incredible opportunities. When a powerful shareholder with a gorgeous penthouse near the heart of Bay City, site of uMon's headquarters, fell from grace due to scandal and corruption, who got in the first and only bid on the foreclosed property? Justice Wick. When an ancient artist-mon design was unearthed in the depths of uMon's archives, who received the only prototype? Justice Wick. Who was allowed to purchase monetization rights from the uMon historical society for most of the major protected historical genealogical databases just before the genealogy craze practically popped up overnight? Justice Wick. Whether it's luck, foresight, or a little of both... he's managed to stay near the forefront of society's movers and shakers for longer than most.
As stated, he owns a penthouse in Bay City, and a second residence in Valley City, though undoubtedly Justice's greatest physical assets are his varied and unique mon collection. Here are some of his most notable ones:
Nocturne
- Appearance: similar to a mechanical owl, but with a second set of claws higher up, underneath its wings.
- Specialty: Gambling
- Description: An enthusiastic gambler in both sports betting and more traditional games like poker. Poker, and similar games, have become a very mysterious and intense intellectual arms race. After all, it's not good-enough for a mon to simply maintain a perfect poker face. One needs to be able to give enough of a tell to bluff one's opponent into committing into a bet, and yet at other times, scare them away when one has a weak hand (or, in this case, claw). Nocturn particularly is known for his distinctive, ear-piercing HOOTs littered here and there throughout his games. What do they mean? How do they play into his greater strategy? How does one best counter such a call? Only he knows, for the many foes he's defeated at the table certainly never figured it out.
Dia
- Appearance: Stereotypical lawyer-man. White guy, brown hair, dark suit, red tie, the works.
- Specialty: Legal and regulatory expert
- Description: Admittedly, nothing is particularly fantastic or extraordinary about Dia. He's highly competent at his job, but he's far from the best. He is very diligent, though, and always tried to keep his ear to the ground to figure out how to best support Justice and Justice's other mons. His goal is always to keep his owner, and his owner's friends, as clean and unmolested as possible. To that end, he runs a fair amount of interference when it comes to the resistance schemes he becomes aware of. A truly thankless job.
- Appearance: A humanoid mon. Tall and slender, with six arms and a large-ish head with two sets of eyes. Usually wearing something fashionable.
- Specialty: "renaissance mon"
Description: Arachne is an artist of wildly varying interests, including painting, sculpture, writing, composition, music (piano primarily), and architecture. Praised for being extremely avant garde in both her creations and her design, she's opened a lot of opportunities for her master in a lot of different social scenes, and her works and services sell for a great deal.
Goopru
- Appearance: Like something between a tree, a squid, and a woman. Tall and willowy with hardened tendrils that branch out. She also wears a shawl that leafs little to the imagination.
- Specialty: "Life coach"
- Description: An expert in the ever-changing field of spirituality. Everything from feng shui to alternative medicine. She knows hundreds of different ways to draw the industrialized world's poisons from one's body, to align one's energy with that of the universe, and to harness the true power of crystals. Her contracted services and books bring in even more money, and occasionally more notoriety, than even Arachne's does, leaving a bit of a rivalry.
Voltaire and Watson (two different mons, but who function as a team and so will be described as such)
- Appearance: Voltaire generally wears a hooded robe, but looks like a silvery humanoid mon, not too dissimilar to Ann (but without the antennae). Watson is a Marionmon, though modded to serve a different purpose than sports.
- Specialty: Genealogy, history, and creative writing.
- Description: Watson performs DNA testing and some ancestry research. Voltaire does more extensive research of family histories in order to place them in context, even romanticizing them into grand stories of heraldry. Very cheesy ones. Regardless of quality, it's become a strong and growing fad for shareholders to want to know more about their family history. Be it due to the decline in society, or perhaps the ease and lack of real challenge or threat in present shareholder lives (or perhaps both), many shareholders have become nostalgic and desire to experience the trials of their ancestors, if only vicariously. Through the efforts of Justice and, particularly, his mon Dia, Justice's estate come into the ownership of many, many exclusive records regarding the history and genealogy of the old world. Acquisitions that have been paying themselves off tenfold as of late and could, one day, approach the other "big two" of Justice's mon collection: the ever-popular Goopru and Arachne.
